Warmer water, longer season — traps solar heat and holds it overnight, extending your swim season.
Less evaporation — evaporation is where most of a pool's heat goes. A cover on the water stops it while the pool isn't in use.
Lower heating costs — evaporation is where the heat goes, and your heater has to replace it. A cover stops the loss at the surface.

Classic is the cover on its own, cut to size. No edge binding and no fittings.
Ultimate adds edge binding, haul cord, and the cords and eyelets that attach the cover to a reel. If you're buying a reel, or already own one, this is the finish that connects to it.
On the warranty. Ten years, pro rata — a replacement is charged at a share of the current price based on the cover's age: 20% in year two, 55% in year five, 95% in year ten. First-season failures are replaced free. Full schedule on the warranty page.
Solar covers float. No fixing, no anchoring, no hardware — the cover sits on the water and is pulled on and off.
Fitting it yourself. Unroll the cover across the pool with the bubbles facing down, into the water. Leave it a few hours before you trim anything. It will sit slightly up the walls, which is intentional and what keeps debris out around the edge. For a straight finish at the waterline, trim with sharp scissors once the cover has settled. Cut long — you can always take more off.
Attaching to a reel. Ultimate covers arrive with the cords and eyelets fitted. Classic covers don't, so you'd add a cord and eyelet kit separately.
Having us fit it. Measure and installation is available in Auckland at $230 including GST, added in the configurator. We measure the pool, cut the cover on site and hand it over fitted. Outside Auckland the cover is delivered to your door.
Solar Pool Covers
Intro Solar covers are the cheapest way to keep your pool warmer for longer. Thousands of small air bubbles trap the sun's heat and pass it into the water — like a lid on a saucepan — while cutting the overnight evaporation that carries away most of a pool's heat. They work whether your pool relies on sun alone or a heating system, holding in the warmth you're already paying for.
Built for heat retention — a closed-cell foam core insulates the surface rather than trapping air, so the heater cycles less.
Longer swim season — holds warmth through cooler and shoulder-season months.
Less evaporation — fully sealed, non-permeable construction keeps water in.
Made to last outdoors — UV-stabilised woven high-density polyethylene, flame-laminated to the foam core on both faces.

Thermal covers come one way only. Edge binding, haul cord and the reel connection hardware are all included in the price — there's no stripped-back version and nothing to add on afterwards.

Fitting it yourself. A thermal cover is heavier than a bubble cover of the same size, so unroll it across the pool with two people if it's a large one. Let it sit and relax before trimming. Trim with sharp scissors once it's settled, cutting long the first time.
Attaching to a reel. The cords and eyelets are already fitted. Because of the extra weight, a reel isn't really optional on a thermal cover much beyond a plunge pool — handling one wet without a reel is a two-person job every time.

Thermal Pool Covers
Thermal covers are built for heat retention — the choice when you're paying to keep a pool warm. A closed-cell foam core insulates the water surface rather than relying on air bubbles, holding the heat an open pool loses overnight. Fully sealed and non-permeable, it also blocks evaporation and chemical loss. Best suited to heated pools and cooler or shoulder-season regions.

Debris covers are the one product measured differently. They don't float — they sit over the pool and anchor to the surround, so the cover needs material beyond the water's edge to fix to. Measure with a 200mm overlap on every side, not to the waterline.

Debris covers are fixed, not floated. This is the only cover in the range with an actual installation.
Fitting it yourself. The cover comes with clips, screws and floor plugs. Lay it over the pool, position it so the overlap is even on all sides, then mark and drill your fixing points in the surround. Work opposite sides alternately so the tension stays even, and don't over-tension — the cover should be taut enough to hold debris clear of the water, not stretched. You'll need a masonry drill.
What it fixes into. Concrete, pavers and timber decking are all fine. Loose-laid pavers and gravel aren't — the anchors need something solid.

Debris Pool Covers
Intro Debris covers keep leaves, dirt and debris out of the pool — cutting cleaning time and taking strain off your pump and filter. Unlike solar or thermal covers they don't retain heat; they're physical protection, especially useful over autumn and winter or when the pool sits unused. Each cover is custom-cut with a 200mm overlap onto the surround, then anchored and tensioned so debris stays clear of the water.

Soft thermal is lightweight and easy to lift on and off daily. Hard is a solid insulated panel — heavier to handle, better insulation, and it takes weight if something lands on it.
Spa covers sit on the spa. Nothing is fixed or drilled.
Soft covers are lifted on and off by hand and stored beside the spa or on a rail.
Hard covers are heavier and hinge in the middle so they fold back rather than lift clear. On a larger spa, a lifter arm makes daily use realistic and is worth pricing at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most of the heat a pool loses goes out through the open water surface, and the largest share of that is evaporation. Every litre that evaporates carries roughly 2.26 megajoules of heat away with it, which your heater then has to put back. A cover on the water stops that while the pool isn't in use — it also cuts the water you top up and the chemical you dose.
How much it saves depends on your pool volume, water temperature, how you heat it and how consistently the cover gets used, so we don't publish a percentage. A cover used most nights will always outperform a better cover used occasionally.
Measure the length and width at the widest points, note your pool shape, and mark any steps. Measure the water surface, not the paving. You don't need to be exact — every cover is cut 150mm larger than your figures on each dimension and trims to the waterline once it's on the water. Debris covers are measured differently, with a 200mm overlap onto the surround.

You supply the measurements, so a cover cut correctly to the measurements you gave us isn't a fault, and can't be exchanged on that basis. Measure twice.
If you'd rather not carry that, we measure the pool ourselves in Auckland as part of measure and installation at $230 including GST. Where we take the measurements, the fit is our responsibility.
Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act for goods that are faulty or not as described are unaffected either way.
Covers are cut to your measurements and made for your pool and no one else's, so they can't be returned or exchanged if you change your mind. If a cover arrives faulty or isn't what was described, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act apply in full.
A reel isn't required, but it turns covering and uncovering into a quick one-person job and stops the cover being dragged across the pool edge. A wet cover on a pool over about four metres is heavy and awkward, and covers that are hard to handle stop getting used. You can add a reel, sized to your pool width, in Price My Cover.
Solar covers carry 10 years pro rata. Thermal and debris covers carry 5 years pro rata. Pro rata means a replacement is charged at a share of the current price based on the cover's age — the full schedule is on the warranty page so you can see where you'd stand in any given year. Manual stainless reels carry 5 years pro rata on the frame and 2 years on wheels, brakes and cover-to-roller connections. Parts and accessories carry 1 year.
Delivery is nationwide — free to North Island addresses, $50 flat to the South Island. Reels are long items and are freighted separately; we confirm the freight for your address before dispatch. Measure and installation is Auckland only at this stage, at $230 including GST, and the site assessment is free. Everywhere else, your cover is delivered to your door to fit yourself.
