What's covered
Every cover is warranted against defects in our fabrication — the seams, binding, eyelets, boom pocket and cords.
Reels and rollers are warranted by component. The frame, the moving parts and the electrics don't wear at the same rate, so they aren't given the same term.
Warranty runs from the date of purchase.

What "pro rata" means
A pro rata warranty doesn't replace the product free of charge for its whole term. It reduces what you pay for a replacement, by an amount that falls away as the product ages.
If it fails in its first season, we replace it at no cost to you. After that, you pay the percentage below of the current retail price of the same product, and we cover the rest.
Ten year products
Blue Solar Cover, Clear and Silver Cover, reinforced commercial bubble cover.
First season — you pay nothing 2nd year — you pay 20% 3rd year — you pay 30% 4th year — you pay 40% 5th year — you pay 55% 6th year — you pay 65% 7th year — you pay 75% 8th year — you pay 85% 9th year — you pay 90% 10th year — you pay 95%
A cover that fails in its fifth year: you pay 55% of what that cover costs at the time, and we cover the other 45%.
Five year products
Thermal Cover, Debris Cover, manual stainless reel frames, bench seat rollers, commercial thermal covers, commercial roller end frames, storage benches.
First season — you pay nothing 2nd year — you pay 30% 3rd year — you pay 50% 4th year — you pay 70% 5th year — you pay 85%
Fixed term products
The one and two year terms are not pro rata. Within the term we repair or replace at no cost to you.
Fitting it yourself doesn't void anything
Most of our covers are bought supply-only and fitted by the owner. That's how the product is designed to be sold, and doing it yourself has no effect on your warranty.
What isn't covered is damage caused by fitting it wrongly — over-tensioning the cover, cutting into the body of it rather than trimming the outer edge, or fixing it in a way that loads the seams.
What's not covered
The cover fabric itself. Our warranty covers our fabrication — the seams, binding, eyelets, boom pocket and cords. It does not extend to the fabric, and there is no separate fabric manufacturer's warranty we are able to pass on to you.
Normal wear and tear, and gradual fading or colour change with age and sun exposure.
Damage from unbalanced water chemistry — undissolved chlorine, alum, incorrect dosing, or a floating chemical dispenser left sitting in one spot against the cover.
Cuts, punctures and abrasion, however caused — tools, cleaning equipment, animals, or anything sharp left in the pool.
Damage from tree roots, leaf fall or other vegetation on or beside the pool.
Shrinkage or distortion caused by the pool being left empty for more than 48 hours, or by the cover being over-tensioned.
Damage from storing the cover folded for more than six months, or storing it at extreme temperature.
Alteration beyond trimming the outer edge back to the waterline.
Damage caused by incorrect fitting or installation.
Commercial or public pool use of a product supplied for residential use. Products supplied for commercial use are covered under the commercial schedule above.
If the cover doesn't fit
Every cover is cut to the measurements on your order.
If you measured the pool yourself, those measurements are the specification we manufacture to. A cover made correctly to measurements that turned out to be wrong isn't a manufacturing fault, and it can't be remade or refunded on that basis. Every cover is supplied with an allowance beyond the measurements you give us, so small differences make no difference to the fit.
If we measured the pool, the fit is ours to get right. Our measure and install service is $200 in Auckland, and where we take the measurements we guarantee the cover fits.
Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act for a cover that is faulty, or that isn't what was described, are not affected either way.
Caring for your cover
Water chemistry is what decides how long a cover lasts.
Keep pH between 7.6 and 7.8, and never let it fall below 7.0. Keep total alkalinity between 150 and 200 ppm. Always premix chemicals with water before they go into the pool, and never let undissolved chlorine or a floating dispenser sit against the cover.
Keep the pool full. The water holds the cover's shape — an empty pool lets it relax and shrink.
Rinse the cover occasionally with fresh water, and check anything that goes into the pool for sharp edges. Don't leave the cover folded and stored for more than six months, and keep it out of extreme heat when it's off the pool.
How to claim
1. Get in touch as soon as you notice the problem. Send us your order number, a description of what's happened, and photos. Contact details are on our contact page.
2. We assess from the photos first. Most claims are settled without the product going anywhere.
3. If we need to inspect it, we'll arrange that with you. A cover needs to come back clean, dry and folded, or it can't be properly inspected.
4. If the claim is accepted, we put it right. We repair, replace, or apply the pro rata credit against a replacement — whichever suits the fault.
Tell us early. Continuing to use a product with a developing fault usually makes it worse, and can put the damage outside what the warranty covers.
Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act
This warranty sits on top of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. It doesn't limit it.
If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee — it isn't of acceptable quality, doesn't match how it was described, or doesn't last as long as it reasonably should — you have rights under the Act regardless of anything on this page, and regardless of how old the product is.
If you think that's happened, get in touch and we'll work through the remedy with you.

Warranty
We stand behind what we make. This page sets out the warranty on our products in full, including the pro rata schedules — so you can see exactly what a claim is worth in year two and in year eight. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. It does not replace or limit them.
